Testicular biopsy (TESE) in Stuttgart

TESE (testicular sperm extraction) is a specialized method for extracting sperm directly from the testicles when no sperm can be detected in the ejaculate.

At the Bad Cannstatt Fertility Center, we combine this highly precise method with state-of-the-art laboratory technology and a sensitive care concept.

The sperm obtained is frozen and can be used at a later date for ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection). A testicular biopsy is a minor surgical procedure performed in our operating room by our partners, the urologists at G2 Urology Fellbach, is carried out.

What is TESE?

In TESE, sperm is extracted directly from the testicular tissue. The sperm obtained is vitrified (frozen) so that it can be used for ICSI at a later date. This enables couples with limited sperm production to undergo effective fertility treatment—even if natural fertilization is not possible.

Who is TESE suitable for?

TESE is primarily recommended for:

  • Absence of sperm in the ejaculate (azoospermia)
